A thrilling adventure down the Thérain
Water sports for everyone. Are you planning on going canoeing or paddleboarding but you’re worried about the level of difficulty? Is the outing suitable for you or your children? Are you wondering how the level of difficulty is determined for a river outing?
For white water sports activities, the river is classified with a level of difficulty ranging between 1 and 6. This river is classified 1 and 2. Category 1 is a calm, predictable river that is easy to paddle on and only has very slight downhill sections and swirls. This is a very easy category. Category 2 rivers are slightly less predictable, with a few rapids that are not particularly difficult to overcome, some average swirls and obstacles that are easy to negotiate. These categories suit a beginner’s level.
The river Thérain is therefore the ideal place to get an introduction to canoeing, to have some fun as a family or explore the scenery and heritage sites from a different perspective. Please note that this doesn’t mean there are no risks. It is still compulsory to be accompanied by professionals and to be well equipped.
Camping de la Trye
The Camping de la Trye is in Bresles, in a quiet, rural location. It is the perfect destination for a summer holiday. There is a range of original rental accommodation and a whole host of leisure activities, including carp fishing, pony rides, bicycle hire, go-karting and quadracycles. There’s an indoor swimming pool to cool off on very hot days. As an added bonus in the summer, José and Joannette offer the possibility to combine canoe & kayak hire for an outing down the Thérain with an overnight stay in original accommodation. You won’t be able to resist the Camping de la Trye!

Canoë de Hermes
The Club de Canoë de Hermes was created in 1987 and is renowned for providing water sports for everyone and for all levels: from beginners to competition level. A sports activity combined with an exploration of the Thérain valley, a place with remarkable industrial heritage and protected biodiversity to admire along the way.
