Welcome to our home
Nestled in the former episcopal palace, residence of the bishops of Beauvais, counts of the town and peers of France, the MUDO-Musée de l'Oise is one of the most remarkable historic monuments in the Oise département.
The MUDO-Musée de l'Oise fully reopened its doors in March 2025. This event crowned two major redevelopment projects on the first and second floors of the palace, with the aim of making the permanent collections accessible to as many people as possible. For the first time since 1997, more than 25 years ago, all three levels of the Palais Episcopal de Beauvais are now open to the public.
The permanent tour of the palace takes in the major trends in the history of art in France and Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries. You can discover a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, objets d?art and graphic works.
Temporary exhibitions regularly punctuate the life of the MUDO-Musée de l?Oise. Organized in the towers of the entrance châtelet, they are an opportunity to present to the public some of the museum?s works kept in the reserves, and to put them in dialogue with collections generously loaned by other museum institutions.
The 3 floors of the bishop's palace housing the permanent collection are accessible to wheelchair users, but the temporary exhibition areas are not.
