This massif, subject to the forestry regime, includes the state forest of La Neuville en Hez (56 ha) and that of Hez-Froidmont (2781 hectares). It covers an area of 2837 hectares, the main species of which are beech and oak.
Royal property since 1218, this massif was named the forest of Hez-Froidmont in 1871 when the State annexed various ecclesiastical or seigneurial woods, in particular those of the abbey of Froidmont
To discover: 2 oaks and several remarkable trees, many marked trails, but also a botanical trail and a walk starting from the Maison Forestière du Lieutenant.
