The streams of fairy lights are twinkling all around you, you can hear singing echoeing through the streets of the town, and the little wooden chalets are being set up at the Place Jeanne Hachette… this means that the magical christmas festivities have officially begun! Let’s celebrate together the beginning of the winter and the year coming to an end, in an explosion of colours. Every year in December, you can come and enjoy the Christmas market in Beauvais, and the entertainment organised throughout this magical, festive time. This year once again, there’s an action-packed programme of entertainment, including festive arts & crafts, gourmet, solidarity-based stands and a whole host of activities and entertainment for the whole family. In the evenings, come and admire the twinkling dome that lights up the square in front of the town hall, overlooking the Christmas village. Come and find some original gift ideas to treat your loved ones or yourselves. Give in to the temptation and taste some delicious products from the local area, that will warm you up in this cold December weather: tasty lime honey, chocolates and fruit jellies with exotic flavours or a sparkling rhubarb drink that will remind you of your childhood. Can you see the roasted chestnuts truck over there in the distance? The children will be thrilled! Music fills the air and circus street performers wander around entertaining the public. Later, there’ll be a Jazz band playing, a light show will be projected onto the walls of the town hall, and a choir will perform. Don’t forget to take the children to see Father Christmas in his grotto of course: so many surprises await, including the traditional photo on Santa’s knee.
