Émile Sornin is a discoverer, an insatiable explorer of genres and influences, from experimental song to psychedelic pop, from music video director to instrument tester (documentary Le Bon Coin Forever). The multi-instrumentalist composer from La Rochelle had first demonstrated the interest of revisiting the psychedelia of the 1970s in his first album Rhapsode with the musical project FOREVER PAVOT.
After his collaboration on Charlotte Gainsbourg?s last album (he arranged and produced 6 tracks of the album Rest), Emile Sornin has once again stuck to the machines from which he has the art of extracting surprising sounds. His interest in 1970's film music, jazz and progressive rock marks Forever Pavot's second album, La Pantoufle, a mixture of influences, from Jacques Tati to the psychedelic touch. There is some Vladimir Cosma, some François de Roubaix and some Jean-Claude Vannier in his universe. With several short films to his credit, he made his entry into the cinema by signing the music for the films De nos frères blessés directed by Hélier Cisterne, then Babysitter by Monia Chokri, both soon to be released. Emile Sornin comes back today with the third opus of Forever Pavot, the Idiophone, which will be released in winter 2023 on Born Bad Records.
+ TH DA FREAK
Sharpened by the frequentation of Bordeaux cellars and rehearsals in the attic with his brothers, the young TH DA FREAK took advantage of his formative years to swallow everything he could, from Dylan to Nirvana, from the Velvet to the Californian garage and it is especially in this place that the miracle took place. Far from sounding like a digest worthy of a Netflix soundtrack or a boring Spotify playlist, his music fell on bubble grunge and smart punk fans like lightning on the Hill Valley clock.
