Beauvais in the heart of the book 2023 (BÔCL) ? 5th edition

On Saturday April 22, 2023 on the Place Jeanne Hachette in Beauvais, we invite you to the Beauvais Book Fair in which we will welcome more than 70 authors and publishers after 3 years of suspension due to the pandemic. Entrance and signing sessions are free.

This event is organized by the association Les Sources with the support of the city of Beauvais. The association Les Sources strives to promote culture through books. Created 7 years ago, our association was inspired by the World Book and Copyright Day of UNESCO in order to bring the pleasure of reading to the greatest number of Beauvaisians but also on the whole territory of the Oise.

The event Beauvais in the heart of the book with these authors, encourage access to culture and sharing to the greatest number of Beauvaisians but also on the whole territory of the Oise.

In these difficult times between the Covid19 pandemic, wars and natural disasters that cause misfortune and desolation, the book is a vector of hope and dialogue. The book allows us to acquire experiences. It inspires us. The book takes a great part in our education. It is a great source of inclusion and sharing in our fast-moving societies. Each book, by telling its story, takes us into a multitude of imaginary worlds. It is inspired by different cultures and enriches us. Each book is a journey, a symbol of diversity and hope. Hope, for the open-mindedness that it will create in us, to knowledge, to new knowledge and to tolerance.

This magnificent event is becoming an essential book fair in our region Hauts-de-France. It requires the support and the mobilization of the actors and partners of the book (authors, publishers, booksellers, media libraries, educators, readers, associations) but also the adhesion of the civil society, the politicians and our media.

Also, we hope to be able to count on your support, by a large diffusion of this event in order to mobilize all the populations and those who are far from it.
